Time allowed on the day of departure for last minute drinks shopping.


Passport: these must not be taken on the river but can be left in the office with other valuables.

Explorer Safaris: A safari where everyone helps in setting up their own tents.


Luggage allowance of 10 kgs on the river.

Animals: Elephant, buffalo, impala, waterbuck, hippo, crocodile and plentiful birdlife.Lion, leopard and painted hunting dog are
more difficult to see.

Rates Include:

Road transfers to and from the safari from Kariba - e.g. from Chirundu / to Mana Pools.

All meals.

Drinks: Cordials not minerals.There is no alcohol, other than wine with dinner each evening.

All canoeing equipment: The canoes are two-man Canadian-style canoes, and the paddles are American Carlisle paddles.

All camping equipment: Two-man dome tents, sleeping bags, liners, mattress, mosquito net, fly sheet, ground sheet and tarpaulin (in case of rainy weather).

Fully qualified canoe guides.

DAY ONE - 18 KMS

Depart at 08h30 for last minute shopping before setting off for the river and the start of your canoe safari.Our group will be transferred in open 4 x 4 vehicles to Nyamepi (Mana Pools Main Camp).Paddling begins at 14h30 until early evening where we overnight on Nyamatusi Island.


DAY 2 - 25 KMS

Wake up at 05h30 to tea/coffee and biscuits before a short morning's paddle.We will stop for breakfast on the banks of the river or island, then canoeing resumes at 09h30.After lunch and a short siesta, canoeing continues until early evening where we will set up camp at G - Camp in the channels.


DAY 3 - 20 KMS: Schedule is the same as for day 2.Overnight on Chewore high sand bank.


DAY 4 - 7 KMS

After a leisurely start and breakfast, we break camp and sett off at approx. 08h00.Arrive at Chewore at 10h00, where canoes and equipment are loaded up for th return trip to Kariba.
