Time allowed on the day of departure for last minute drinks shopping.

Passport: These must not be taken on the river but can be left in the office with other valuables.

Explorer Safaris: Are self participatory, which means that everyone helps in setting up their tents.

Luggage allowance of 10 kgs on the river.

Animals: Elephant, buffalo, impala, waterbuck, hippo, crocodile and plentiful birdlife.Lion, leopard and painted hunting
dog are more difficult to see.

Rate Include:

Road transfers to and from the safari from Kariba - e.g. from Chirundu / to Mana Pools.

All meals.

Drinks: Cordials not minerals.There is no alcohol, other than wine with dinner each evening.

All canoeing equipment: The canoes are two-man Canadian-style canoes, and the paddles are American Carlisle paddles.

All camping equipment: Two-man dome tents, sleeping bags, liners, mattress, mosquito net, fly sheet, ground sheet and tarpaulin (in case of rainy weather).

Fully qualified canoe guides.

Day 1: The safari departs at 08h30 for last minute shopping before setting off to the river.After lunch we will explore the Nyaempi area by game drive before setting up camp for the evening.

Day 2: A wake up call at 07h00 is done for safety talks and a briefing before launching onto the river, followed by lunch and siesta.At approx. 15h00 we will start paddling again until early evening, which we will spend at Chikwenya Island.

Day 3: Tea and coffee will be served at 05h30, after which we will depart for a short morning's paddle, followed by breakfast either on an island or the banks of the river.At 09h30 we resume canoeing until lunch at midday followed by a brief siesta.Canoeing continues until early evening.

Day 4: Today's programme is similar to Day 3, exploring the shoreline of the Chewore area (home of the Great Elephant).We ovenright at Mupata Gorge.

Day 5: The schedule is the same as for days 3 and 4, with the day being spent in the Mupata gorge viewing many endemic species of wildlife and taking in its spectacular geographical features.Overnight at the base of the towering Red Cliffs.

Day 6: An early wake up call and breakfast before paddling down to the take out point at Kanyemba, where we load up the equipment and transfer back to Kariba (e.t.a. 16h00).
