Time allowed on the day of departure for last minute drinks shopping.


Passport: These must not be taken on the river but can be left in the office with other valuables.


Credit Cards: Are not a recommended payment option in Zimbabwe.


Explorer Safaris: A safari where everyone helps in setting up their own tents.


Luggage allowance of 10 kgs on the river.

Animals: Elephant, buffalo, impala, waterbuck, hippo, crocodile and plentiful birdlife. Lion, leopard, painted hunting dog are more difficult to see.

Rate Include:

Road transfers to and from the safari from Kariba - e.g. from Chirundu / to Mana Pools.

All meals.

Drinks: Cordials not minerals.There is no alcohol, other than wine with dinner each evening.

All canoeing equipment: The canoes are two-man Canadian-style canoes, and the paddles are American Carlisle paddles.

All camping equipment: Two-man dome tents, sleeping bags, liners, mattress, mosquito net, fly sheet, ground sheet and tarpaulin (in case of rainy weather).

Fully qualified canoe guides.

Note: the rate does not include National Park Fees which are payable direct to Parks.

Day One - 18 kms

Time are given to purchase any extra drinks before the start of the canoe safari.We will transfer by open 4 x 4 vehicles to Chirundu, arriving at approx. 11h30, where canoes and kit are unloaded.After a briefing session we will have a packed lunch on the river.We will set up camp at around 17h00 on the Kakomarara island.


Day Two - 27 kms

Its a sunrise wake up call for tea/coffee and biscuits before paddling, for a couple of hours to the breakfast stop. We resume canoeing at roughly 09h30 to midday for a well earned lunch and siesta.Conoeing resumes until about 17h00 where we overnight at Lone Acacia Island.


Day Three - 23 kms

Same schedule as Day 2.Overnight on Trichelia Island.


Day Four - 7 kms

Time is given for a leisurely wake up and breakfast, before breaking camp.We set off at approx. 08h00 arriving 10h00 at Mana Pools.Canoes and equipment are loaded onto our vehicles for the return trip to Kariba, arriving at Kariba about 14h00.
